About Hanks Coins

purpose

Hanks Coins is a coin reference website built for collectors who want clear information about U.S. coins, silver content, grading, mint marks, proof sets, errors, varieties, and outside research resources.

The goal is to organize collector information in a way that helps visitors research coins before using price guides, auction listings, or grading resources.

How the site is organized

Coin pages include specifications, design notes, composition, silver content where applicable, measurements, designer information, and collector context. Guide pages explain beginner topics such as identifying coins, reading mint marks, estimating melt value, and avoiding cleaning damage.
