The five themes are the Mayflower Compact, Revolutionary War, Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and Gettysburg Address. Each issue carries the dual date 1776 ~ 2026 and imagery specific to its historical theme. Use the individual U.S. Mint design descriptions when identifying a specific 2026 quarter.

Semiquincentennial Quarter history

The 2026 Semiquincentennial Quarter Program marks the 250th anniversary of the United States with five one-year quarter designs. The themes trace major chapters in American self-government and national history: the Mayflower Compact, the Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Gettysburg Address. Each design uses the dual date 1776 ~ 2026. The program follows the American Women Quarters and is limited to 2026 before another multi-year quarter program begins in 2027.

The U.S. Mint also produced 250,000 Declaration of Independence quarters with a special “July 4th” privy mark and no mint mark for random release into circulation.
