Design identification
Obverse: Liberty bust portrait.
Reverse: HALF CENT within a wreath.
U.S. Mint coin reference
Draped Bust half cents continued the early copper half-cent denomination into the 1800s.

Obverse: Liberty bust portrait.
Reverse: HALF CENT within a wreath.
The Draped Bust half cent replaced the Liberty Cap design when half-cent production resumed with the 1800 date. Robert Scot’s portrait faces right, and the reverse surrounds HALF CENT with a wreath and the fraction 1/200.
Dated issues exist for 1800, 1802–1805, 1807, and 1808; there are no regular 1801 or 1806 half cents. The 1800–1808 heading therefore describes the type’s span, not continuous annual production.
