The story behind this coin

This special Arkansas issue replaced the regular obverse with Senator Joseph T. Robinson, who was alive and serving in Congress. It was sold through a separate arrangement and distributed partly as political gifts, making it one of the era’s clearest examples of commemorative privilege. The reverse retained the Arkansas centennial eagle motif.
