The story behind this coin

Although dated 1936, this coin commemorated the 300th anniversary of the Swedes’ 1638 landing in Delaware and was released for the 1938 celebration. The designs show Old Swedes Church and the ship Kalmar Nyckel. Its date-event mismatch is intentional, not an error.
