The Texas Centennial half dollar financed historical observances and memorial work connected with independence from Mexico. Pompeo Coppini filled the reverse with the Alamo, Victory, Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin, and the Lone Star. After the initial 1934 issue, annual Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco sets continued through 1938, with sharply declining mintages.
Obverse: Eagle and Lone Star.
Reverse: Winged Victory above the Alamo.
