1798–1807 Draped Bust Dime Heraldic Eagle history

The Heraldic Eagle reverse replaced the Small Eagle on dimes dated 1798. Dated issues exist for 1798, 1800–1805, and 1807; no 1799 or 1806 Draped Bust dimes were issued.

Robert Scot’s Draped Bust obverse continued throughout the subtype. Die-state and variety study focuses on date punches, star arrangements, reverse lettering, and the shielded eagle rather than assuming every calendar year in the heading had production.
