Obverse: Liberty head with radiate crown.
Reverse: Eagle perched with PEACE inscription.
Anthony de Francisci designed the Peace dollar to mark the end of World War I. The 1921 issue was struck in high relief; production shifted to a modified lower-relief hub in 1922 and continued intermittently through 1935.
The relief change affects strike character and is a major type distinction within the series. Mintmark, date, hair detail above Liberty's ear, eagle feathers, and original luster help identify and assess each issue.
