1921: Morgan Silver Dollar (Low-Relief Design Variety) history

The Morgan dollar returned in 1921 after the original 1878-1904 run had ended. New hubs with a lower-relief treatment were prepared for mass production under the Pittman Act replacement program.

Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco struck 1921 Morgans; it was the only year Denver produced the design. Hub details, mintmark, strike, and luster distinguish this final-year subtype from earlier Morgan dollars.
