2001–2008: 50 State Quarters Program (Final Years of the 50-State Series) history

These years complete the 50 State Quarters Program that began in 1999, with five state reverses released annually through Hawaii in 2008. The separate District of Columbia and U.S. Territories program followed in 2009.

Each reverse represents one state, while the common Washington obverse was adapted to accommodate the changing designs. Clad circulation coins and 90% silver proofs use different weights.
