2007–2016: Presidential $1 Coin Program history

The original Presidential $1 Coin Program released presidents in service order from 2007 through 2016. The Treasury suspended production for general circulation after 2011, so later regular issues were made chiefly for collectors.

A separate law authorized a George H. W. Bush Presidential $1 coin in 2020. That later issue is an exception and does not turn the original 2007-2016 program into a continuous run through 2020.
