1948–1963: Franklin Half Dollar (90% Silver) history

John R. Sinnock's Franklin half dollar paired Benjamin Franklin with the Liberty Bell and a small eagle required by law. It was the last regular half-dollar design introduced before the Kennedy series.

The bell lines are a major strike and grading feature, while a small crack in the bell is part of the design. Date, mintmark, hair detail, bell detail, and original silver surfaces guide comparison.
